Trumpet Awards 2010: Energy on the Red Carpet
We've never seen that venue. We've never seen it's beauty, it's contemporary architecture , its lavishness. We've never seen the price of a Coke so high either ($4.00!). The Cobb Energy center was a really good move for the Trumpet Awards Foundation. There were some very familiar faces as well as new ones. We arrived at a good time and got some excellent shots (as seen below). The red Carpet was packed, we could hardly move around. We had to squeeze and shape ourselves into a couple of spots. Thanks to Stephanie, we got a permanent place (thanks PeopleTV) that we could maneuver in, far away from the no-fly zone, hence the "black tape". It took a while for the VIPs to show up, a hell of a while lol. My back was aching, "my back has never ached before" I thought. But as soon as the people started to show, I had to get the flash and settings ready. No time for aches or pains!
They started to pour in. I missed quite a few people. They were going at speeds up to 186,400 m/s. I almost missed the Ambassador Andrew Young! But the big wigs started to slow the line down. Everybody was just so amiable. Michael Jackson made a surprise appearance. 'Oh my god, the dead has arisin' (look at the pic below). Especially Amarosa (The Apprentice, Season 1; her most notable role), she was practically Miss Congeniality. Lisa Raye was pretty nice (pretty and nice too) and Steve Harvey was lit up! They picked the right place with the right name. We started to head to the " Terrace" (the 'nosebleeds' for those who don't have rank, j/k). On the way there, George bought me that $4 Coke. I think it's makeup for the free parking. We get up the stairs and I see that I'm suddenly afraid of heights, which is crazy because I've scaled Mount Everest, twice (in a dream of course). We heard a great performance of the 'Star spangled Banner' by __________________. General William E. Ward gave his speech. We left shortly thereafter, climbing over rails lol.
That was the end of the ceremony, for us. I'm definitely coming back next year. One thing is still biting at me though...... They thought the General was Chief Richard Pennington, LMBO!
